  • Provides technical support to the vessel on a daily basis.
  • Responsible to maintain the vessel in Class; coordinates and organizes Class surveys in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the vessel maintenance and equipment complies with the Class requirements.
  • Responsible for the implementation of HSE Plan at work site, hazard and risk management in accordance with companies requirements.
  • Prepares specific work instructions in compliance with the companies HSE requirements for the repairs and modifications and follows up on implementation of same.
  • Manages dry-docking of the vessel and or major repairs.
  • Prepares technical specifications for repairs and modifications on board the vessel.
  • Prepares budget estimates for vessel repairs, dry dock periods and modifications.
  • Ensures timely completion of the repairs as per specification and or engineering drawings.
  • Coordinates and monitors the activities of sub-contractors working on board the vessel.
  • Monitors the vessel Planned Maintenance System as being up to date and checks the functioning and completion of tasks.
  • Ensures all technical documentation is available and up to date.
  • Assists vessel procurement and supports the vessel buyer with technical detail of required materials.
  • Ensures the correct level of spares and consumables are maintained on board the vessel.
  • Assists the Asset Manager with upgrades and ensures improvements are made in accordance with Class and statutory requirements.
  • Other tasks deemed necessary as required within his capability and field of expertise.



  • Marine Engineer certificated to minimum 1st Class Certificate of Competency.
  • Minimum 10 years sea time
  • At least 4 years served as Chief Engineer on vessels unlimited power.
